Travel portal
A web interface where employees and managers manage trips, bookings and documents. It typically provides access to book new trips, view upcoming itineraries, retrieve travel documents and check approval status. Many corporate travel booking platforms present their booking tool through this kind of portal.
A corporate travel portal usually includes personal traveller profiles with passport details and preferences, a search and booking module, a list of upcoming and past trips, a document archive with tickets, vouchers and invoices, and the status of approval requests. Managers and coordinators see additional functions: approving trips, booking on behalf of colleagues, managing travel policy settings and viewing reports on spend.
The key advantage of a portal is that everything related to a trip is stored in one place and accessible at any time. Employees no longer search their inboxes for confirmations, and finance teams do not have to request missing documents after the trip. Access rights ensure that each user sees exactly what they need: a traveller sees their own trips, while a finance manager sees spend across departments and cost centres.
Tumodo's personal account works as this kind of portal. All tickets, vouchers and travel documents are stored online, a single trip overview with all key details can be downloaded in advance, and role-based access levels define who can book, approve and view reports and financial indicators. The same account is also available through the Tumodo mobile app for iOS and Android, so trip details are always at hand.
