Single Sign-On (SSO)
Logging into the booking tool with the company's central corporate identity. Instead of managing a separate username and password for the travel platform, employees sign in using the same credentials — and often the same authentication steps — they use for other company systems. This simplifies access for travellers and gives IT teams centralised control over who can use the booking tool.
Technically, SSO relies on an identity provider — for example, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta or Google Workspace — that confirms who the user is. When an employee opens the booking tool, they are redirected to the corporate login page, authenticate once (often with multi-factor authentication) and are then granted access automatically using standard protocols such as SAML or OpenID Connect. The travel platform never needs to store a separate password for that user. Access to the travel platform then depends on the same identity and security settings as email and other business applications.
The benefits go beyond convenience. When an employee leaves the company, disabling their corporate account immediately removes access to every connected application, including the travel platform. IT teams deal with fewer password reset requests, security policies apply consistently across systems, and adoption of the booking tool tends to be higher because signing in is effortless. SSO is often combined with automatic user provisioning, which creates and updates traveller profiles from the company's HR system.
Keeping user access and employee data in sync with company systems is an important part of how Tumodo works. Through HRIS integrations — including connections via Merge to BambooHR, Zoho, Sage, Oracle and other systems — traveller data stays up to date automatically, while role-based access levels define who can book, approve trips or view reports and financial indicators. Tumodo's open API allows the platform to be connected with a company's intranet and internal systems, and the dedicated account manager can advise on the right setup.
