Day rate
A daytime room rate without an overnight stay — handy for short stops between flights. It lets a traveller rest, work or shower during a long layover or between meetings without booking a full night. Day rates are usually cheaper than an overnight booking and cover a defined block of daytime hours rather than a full 24-hour period.
Day rates, also known as day-use rooms, are typically available for a set number of hours — for example, from morning until early evening — and are priced below the cost of a full night. They are especially common in airport hotels and in major business hubs. Some hotels also offer day-use rooms as meeting spaces or quiet places to work, which can be useful for travellers who need privacy for calls or preparation between appointments. Rates and availability vary by city.
For business travellers, day rates can make a long day on the road much more productive. Instead of waiting several hours in a terminal after an overnight flight, an employee can shower, rest and prepare for a meeting. For companies, a day rate is often cheaper than booking an extra night to cover an early arrival or late departure. It is also an alternative to early check-in or late check-out, which may not always be guaranteed.
Tumodo helps travellers make the most of time between flights and meetings. Early check-in or late check-out can be requested directly on the hotel page or through Tumodo's 24/7 support team. For long connections, airport services such as VIP lounges, Fast Track and Meet & Assist can be booked online, and car transfers and taxis can be added to the same trip, so every part of a busy travel day is organised and recorded in one place.
